The Status 2 is a versatile mountain bike designed to push the boundaries of what a trail bike can do. Whether you're riding on the trails, at the bike park, in the streets, or just cutting turns with friends on a local hill, the Status 2 allows you to ride your way. It's equally at home as a trail bike, park bike, or urban cruiser. Each Status 2 is built by riders with a super strong M5 alloy chassis and tough alloy wheels. Stout suspension, powerful brakes, and popular drivetrain options are designed to catch big hits, pedal smooth, and provide excellent stopping power. This bike is built for progression and durability, not aesthetics. Before delivery, each Status 2 receives a special shock tune from Specialized's Ride Dynamics team—experts dedicated to mountain bike suspension. The shock characteristics are specifically tuned to complement the kinematics of the Status 2's geometry. The Status 2 features flip chips located on the Horst pivot link near the rear axle, allowing riders to fine-tune the frame's geometry to their preferred ride or terrain. Bikes ship in the high position but can be flipped to a lower and slacker setup, with 8mm lower bottom bracket and half a degree slacker head tube angle. The frame has been completely redesigned with updated geometry for improved usability and durability.
